Mark Gamble Joins Alliance for SoCal Innovation to Drive Health Systems Innovation

We are pleased to announce that Mark Gamble, formerly a senior executive at the Hospital Association of Southern California (HASC), has joined the Alliance for SoCal Innovation as our Strategic Director for Health Systems Innovation. In this newly created role, Mark will lead the growth and strategic direction of the Health Systems Innovation Council (HSIC), working to deepen collaboration across our region’s health systems and accelerate meaningful innovation.

During his 30-year tenure with the Hospital Association of Southern California, Mark led regional advocacy efforts, oversaw internal operations, and helped develop groundbreaking services such as recuperative care and community health improvement in one of the most complex health care landscapes in the country. His background in public policy, operations, and system-wide advocacy gives him a unique perspective on how to foster innovation at scale across diverse hospital systems.

“Mark brings deep industry experience and strong relationships plus a true passion for innovating in healthcare delivery organizations. We are so excited to add his leadership as we grow the Alliance’s programs for hospitals and health system innovation leaders,” said Steve Gilison, COO at the Alliance for SoCal Innovation.

The Health Systems Innovation Council

The Health Systems Innovation Council (HSIC) is a collaborative initiative originally conceived by the Alliance for SoCal Innovation in partnership with HASC. The Council, now beginning its second year, brings together senior innovation leaders from a broad range of Southern California health systems including hospitals, integrated health systems, and care networks who typically see each other as competitors. The HSIC aims to foster a spirit of cooperation, sharing best practices, and exploring new technologies.

The Council represents a bold new chapter for how health systems across Southern California collaborate: rather than working in silos, they are uniting around shared goals of innovation and sustainable improvement in healthcare delivery.

We are confident that with Mark at the helm, the HSIC will expand its reach, deepen engagement among health-system leaders, and accelerate real-world innovation that benefits patients and communities across Southern California.

Please join us in welcoming Mark Gamble to the Alliance for SoCal Innovation family.
