Talent, Ideas, and Business: Innovating by Design, Strategies for Success

On November 7th, the Alliance in partnership with the ArtCenter College of Design in Pasadena hosted “Innovating by Design: Strategies for Success,” an exclusive event for Southern California’s most promising founders. A dynamic mix of founders, investors, corporate leaders, and design experts came together to explore how strategic design can propel startups to new heights. The event kicked off with a tour of ArtCenter’s state-of-the-art facilities, showcasing the cutting-edge resources available to budding entrepreneurs.

The highlight of the evening was a keynote by Tim Huntzinger, Founder and CEO of XOTO, who drew on his vast experience as a former design leader at Rivian, Kitty Hawk, and Daqri to share invaluable and highly visual insights. This keynote was followed by an engaging panel discussion featuring Jeff Tan, Director, CEO Co-Innovation, Microsoft Customer & Partner Solutions; and SVP Founder, Tina John, CEO and co-founder, Aveera, and Maurice Maschmeyer, investor from BAM Ventures and ArtCenter alum, moderated by Robbie Nock, Associate Vice President of Innovation and Professional Practice at ArtCenter College of Design. The panel shared their varied perspectives on leveraging design and design thinking to drive business growth and customer adoption.

The event concluded with a reception, offering attendees a chance to network with some of the top founders and investors in the region. It was an inspiring and informative evening, leaving attendees equipped with actionable strategies to scale their businesses.
